Buck Weinrich

Enduring love, sudden loss, and the hard, honest work of learning how to live again.

A Love Story That Didn’t End

Grief isn’t something you just “get over.”

After losing his wife to cancer, Buck began sharing his story to help others feel less alone in their grief.

His memoir, Inseparable, is a heartfelt love story and a candid reflection on loss, while his grief recovery classes offer supportive guidance for those seeking healing after grief, be it from the death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, or other life-altering event.

If you’re looking for grief support, grief recovery resources, or a true love story rooted in real life, you’re in the right place.

Welcome.

Meet Buck Weinrich

Buck has made his home in Alberta, Canada, where he served as a Cowboy Evangelist and pastor for the past three decades. Today, he dedicates his time as a Grief Recovery Specialist, helping people find relief and healing from the pain of loss.

Buck Weinrich and his wife, Jan, were sweethearts for four years before marrying at ages 19 and 17. Their marriage lasted 46 wonderful years and was blessed with five children and fourteen grandchildren before Jan lost a brief battle with cancer. Facing life alone, Buck had to learn how to overcome his grief.

Inspired by the hope he found, he is now a Grief Recovery Method® facilitator and author, bringing lived experience, empathy, and steady guidance to those facing loss. His work is not about fixing grief, but about honoring it, understanding it, and moving forward with integrity and compassion.

Having rediscovered his zest for life, Buck now enjoys cheering on his grandchildren in hockey and other sports, traveling extensively across the continent in his RV, and pursuing his hobbies of competitive shooting and showing cutting horses.

Grief Recovery Classes

If you are reading this, it likely means that you, or someone close to you, is suffering from a broken heart.

Grief Recovery classes provide a structured, supportive space to process loss in a way that goes beyond time, distraction, or positive thinking. These classes are especially helpful for those carrying unresolved grief, whether from death, divorce, sudden loss, or life changes that still hurt beneath the surface.

Led by Buck, each session combines proven Grief Recovery Method® principles with lived empathy and personal insight. You’ll be guided step-by-step through practical tools that help you understand your grief, release emotional pain, and reclaim hope without minimizing your experience.

These classes are for you if:

  • You feel stuck or emotionally overwhelmed by loss
  • You didn’t get the chance to say goodbye
  • You’re tired of being told “time will heal it”
  • You want real tools, not platitudes

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means learning how to live fully again.

Group Class Grief Support: Typically in-person, this program is for small groups to work through the Grief Recovery Method together.

One-on-one Grief Support: This program is for people who prefer to work one-on-one rather than in a group setting.

The 7-session format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs and can be completed in-person or online with a Grief Recovery Method Specialist specifically trained to help people move through loss with dignity and respect.

Helping Children with Loss Class: Coming Soon The vast majority of parents find themselves at a loss when trying to help their children deal with any grieving experience that impacts them. This 4-week program is designed to teach parents, and others who work with children, the necessary tools to help children effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing.

“Buck was an amazing facilitator. His empathy and experience were essential to my ability to learn and understand the material.”

“He was easy to talk to and gave real-life examples of his personal experience, which helped me understand how to do the weekly assignments. I felt accepted and no judgment.”
